Rosa Parks
By: Albert P.
California, Grade 6

I nominate Rosa Parks because she decided not to move from her seat when a white passenger came on board. The bus was full so the law was if all the bus was full, a black person had to move and stand up. So what Rosa Parks did was not move and was arrested because of that. This started a boycott which lasted 381 days. The boycott ended because the bus companies were losing lots of money. I also nominate Rosa Parks because she had the courage of not moving off the bus seat. I would also nominate her because she has won a lot of awards. Finally, I nominate her because it is unusual in those days for a black woman to refuse to move their seat to a white person.
