She inspired a lot of people. She had very good will power. If she fell down she would get right back up. In 1960 she was known as the fastest woman in the world. She would not let anything stop her from doing what she wanted to do. Her hero was Jesse Owens and she wanted to do exactley what he did. Win three gold metals in one compitition and that is exactley what she did.
