Alaska, Grade 6

Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic ocean solo. In 1937, she started her solo trip around the world. Her plane went down 35-100 miles off the coast of Howland Islands. Nobody knows how her plane crashed. They expect it ran out of fuel. People never found Amelia Earhart's body or plane.
