Frida Kahlo

For this special women's history month project, I would like to nominate Frida Kahlo. She was an amazing woman and painter, who overcame the difficulties and trials of life to become one of the most memorable painters, and to me the most memorable female painter. I also think that Frida should be inducted to the honor roll of women.
I feel that I can really relate to Frida Kahlo. She was born in the same area of Mexico as my grandmother. She was also an artist, and I really do like to draw. Frida also suffered a lot during her childhood, so it makes me admire her even more. She got hit by a bus when she was in her late teens, and forevermore she was very un-healthy.
Frida went in and out of hospitals throughout her entire life. When in the hospital, Frida would create pictures depicting real-life and fantasy issues. These pictures were sometimes quite disturbing, but they showed her true feelings. She married a fellow painter, Diego Riviera, although he was 20 years her senior. During her years with Riviera, Frida created many beautiful pictures.
Ms. Kahlo's life was pain filled, and very short. When she was 47, she died from complications of her back and bone problems. Her main popularity was during the 80's when women painters were very in style. Frida is now a art legend she has influenced tons of different things in today's world. She has had movies created after her, as well as books and even jewelry. I think that she must forever be remembered, that's why I'm asking you to put her in the honor role of notable women.
