Geraldine Mock
By: Donavan C.
Georgia, Grade 6

Geraldine ''Jerrie'' is my great grandmother. She became the first woman to fly around the world solo, completing her flight on April 17th, 1964. She completed the flight that Amelia Earhart vanished on. Grant it, Amelia deserves credit for attempting such a flight, but my great grandmother deserves the credit that Amelia Earhart is given, likewise. Not many people today even know who Geraldine Mock is; I want to change that!
