Sojourner Truth
By: Kendall H.
Alaska, Grade 6

Sojourner Truth was born into slavery in 1797 in Hurley, New York. She spoke for womens rights and the abolition of slavery throughout the United States. She changed history by risking her life to speak out against what others thought. She sadly died November 26, 1883, in Battle Creek Michigan. During the course of her lifetime she displayed bravery that one day I hope I will display to.
