I feel that Rosa Parks deserves to be included in the Honor Roll of Notable Women because she is one of the most important citizens of the 20th century. We desperately need more Rosa Parks in this country and in the world in general.

Rosa Parks is an extraordinary person, a national hero. Full of hopes, dreams and wisdom and stood up against racism and stood up for herself. Rosa Parks was a woman who helped the civil rights movement. She helped by refusing to give up her seat on the bus to a white passenger. The brave woman was arrested and fined for violating a city ordinance, but her lonely act of definance began a movement that ended segregation in America. Rosa Parks was a very brave, strong individual who is a symbol of courage and determination to not give up or in. An inspiration to the world.

Rosa Parks made a huge difference in the world a place to live in for african-american people. Rosa Parks is the recipient of many honors and she founded the Rosa and Raymond Parks institute for self-development. This is a community center environment that offers programs for youth to help them continue their education and have a strong hope for the future.

Reality is that racism and prejudice still exists in the world today but because of people like Rosa Parks the world has also learned to look beyond color and race and allow themselves to treat all people the same way and with the same respect they themselves would like to be treated. We are all human beings and should be treated as such.
