Rosa Parks
By: Kim L.
California, Grade 6

I nominate Rosa Parks to the honor roll of honorable women because she not only stood up for black people, but the fact that she was a woman was overwhelming at a time where men like Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X were supreme. Rosa Parks also has that kind of spunk that someone needs to be on something as special as this. I mean she stood up and had enough guts at the time to tell a white person that she was still going to sit in the white section of the bus. All because she was tired. After the incident the Montgomery Improvement Association was formed and led by,who else, Martin Luther King Jr.Heck! She even had an award named after her! The Rosa Parks Freedom award. This is why I think that Rosa Parks should be on the honor roll of notable women.
