New York, Grade 4

When Helen was 19 months an illness left her deaf, blind and mute. When having these disabilities Helen showed intelience so Helen's mother sent for a special teacher. The teacher they got was Anne Sullian. Anne spelled words in Helen's hand so Helen could learn to spell. Helen earned a bachelor's degree at Radcliffe. She achieved in reading, writing and even speacking. She also wrote poetry. This shows if you have a disability you still can do anything.
