Harriet Tubman

Maryland, Grade 8

I am nominating Harriet Tubman because she was a outstanding African-American women. Despite the fact many people attempted to catch her and posted a reward of $40,000 for her capture--which is alot now and even more back then--, she continued to conduct the Underground Railroad which led over 300 slaves to freedom including her family. This took an overwhelming amount of courage for her to do this.
