Susan B. Anthony
By: Maya D.
New Jersey, Grade 6

I am nominating Susan B. Anthony because I think she was an incredibly strong and courageous woman. She believed that women were just as goood as men.She did not judge people by the color of their skin and she fought for their rights. I think that it is hard to have different ideas and beliefs than the crowd. But Susan wasn't scared to be different. I wish that I was able to be so accepting of people. I wish I was able to stand out in the crowd like Susan could. She was strong and she was a fighter. It must have been hard supporting women and black rights when in your heart you knew some people hated what you stood for. I could never imagine being such a pioneer, such a revolutionist in a world that for a long time did not want to change. It is really a wonderful thing. I think that if we had more people like Susan in this world maybe there would be less war and more peace. Susan believed in peace. I think that that is a wonderful goal: peace, harmony, education, and equal rights for all. I hope that this world sees more people like Susan, people who are not scared to stand out, people who are fighters, because she was a real role model. I think there is a little bit of Susan in us all, a little part that is fighting to escape.☺
