When Mirian came to the U.S. from Ireland in 1956 she was already working as a violinist in concert orchestras. She was able to find the same job here. Mirian was born in Germany. She left for Ireland when the war began in Germany. She came to the U.S. because her husband got a job here. The most valuable things that she brought were her children and her violin. When she got to the U.S. her first impression was of New York. ''The Statue of Liberty was breathtaking,'' she said,' 'and the buildings were very tall.'' The thing she liked to do most in Ireland was going camping with her family.
