My name is WeiHeng. I am from Guang Dong, China. I am 19 years old. My birthday is April 24, 1989. I came to the United States on October 17, 2006. I came to the U.S. with my parents, and my sisters. My family has 5 people. When I went to the U.S., I was so sad, because I left behind my good friends. My favorite subject was Math in the China. And my favorite sport is basketball. I loved China.
I wanted to come to the U.S. because the U.S. has more ways to make money. My family was farm in the China. Our land was poor. The China is crowded, so it wasn’t easy to find a job. The U.S. gives me a better life and the U.S. is easy to find a job. So we will have money. I like the U.S. is freedom. The China is not freedom. I hated it. When I came to the U.S., I left behind my good friends. I left behind my beautiful clothes. I left behind my good relatives. When I left behind it, I was so sad. Before I wanted to come to the U.S., I went to learn about English in the China. And I went to buy more clothes. Some people said the U.S. is so cold. I went to bring a little money. When I arrived in the U.S., my uncle wanted to me goes to school. “The school can help you” said my uncle. I expect to finish high school. And then go to college. I want to find a good job.
When I arrived in the U.S., I went to my new house. And go to school. Sometimes I went to go to Chinatown. I felt the Chinatown is not beautiful. It is different than my expected. When I arrived, I felt happy, excited and festive. Before I thought my English was good. It is different than my expected. My English is not good. Before I arrived in the U.S., I went to find a job. I felt hard. Sometimes I went to church learn English. In the church I was families with the basketball team people. They were helping me to learn English. Before I add their basketball team, I was happy. They were very nice and helpful. I am going to play basketball with church’s friends every Sunday.
I feel happy living in New York. I want to finish high school. And I want to go to college in my future. This is my dream. I love New York.
