My name is Yinghui, I am 19 years old. I am an immigrant from China. I live in Brooklyn N.Y. I came to the U.S. with my mother on 2007.
When I was in China, I was a student. I went to school on weekdays. On the weekend, I went to play with my friends. I felt very happy in those days. I came to the U.S. because my father was here. My father told us that we could go after a few years. One day the officials sent a letter to us that said we could go to the U.S. I was so excited at that time because I could have a plentiful live in the future. I also could make more money in the future. I also could make different kinds of friends in the future. Those were all my hopes. We started to prepare how to come to the U.S.. We bought the tickets for the plane. We also bought a lot of clothes because of many people told us that is very cold in the U.S. We had a big meal with our big family, and then we left our hometown.
When I arrived, I went to New York City. In the second day, we had dinner with our relatives. After a few days, we went to find a high school for me. I felt a little bit of upset in those days because I got home sick. I miss my home, the place I grow up. When I thought about my future, I felt very excited, Oh…my plentiful life. I will study hard to make it come true.
I do not like my new house very much because it is not mine. We have to pay a lot of money to my landlord once a month, so in future I hope I will have one. If supper girl is a kind of the job, I want to be one of that. I know that is my daydream.
