My name is Candy. I am from Guangdong, China. I arrived in the United States on April 18, 2006 with my parents.
My aunt had applied for us to come here ten years ago. She said itís better for me to study, and I will get a good job after I graduate from a U.S. college. When I was in China, I really didnít want to come here because my sister and brother could not come here. Only my parents and I could come, and my friends are also still in China. Though I really didnít want to immigrate, I had no choice. I had to obey my parents.
The first time I arrived here, all the things were strange. I had to learn all the things like when I was a little kid. First, I didnít know English; I had to try my best to learn it well. Second, I had to be comfortable at the new school and with others.
My new house is very different from the house in China. I like the house in China better because my parents own that house. We have no need to pay rent in China. I have a dream that I will have a beautiful house with a beautiful garden, and I and my family live there, also I really want to have my own cafť.
