Michael as a teenager lived in Greece. So he went to the beach and swam in the sea. Also as a teenager he threw many parties. He came to America in 1981 to go to college. His first impression of Chicago (where he arrived in the summer), was that it was hot and humid. On the way to America he flew first class.

He didn't bring anything special, just money and clothes. When he came he had no relatives that came before him. After he finished his education, he worked at SMU.

Today he is a physicist at Cal Tech.
