My Immigrant experience
My name is Henry; I am an immigrant from Hong Kong. I came to the United States in June 2007 when I was 19 years old. I came with family.
If you wanted me to say, why I came to U.S, I had many reasons. I wanted to change my life. I wanted to learn more English. Importantly, I wanted to forget something. I prepared a lot before I came to the U.S. I went to part-time school to study more English. I cut the day school life, and I found some U.S. school data. I had a goal, family and I to support my dream to leave. What did I expected? I wanted to go to college, and had different way before my life.
After we arrived in the U.S, we went to my auntieís house, where I live now. When our livings were ok, we started to visit New York City. As the same time, I needed to find the school which I can study. When I arrived in U.S., I felt excited. Because there was anew place, I can learn more in here, but in my heart, I felt worried. I feared I couldnít use English to talk with American. Anyway, I thought different with my original expected. I expected to go in college, but I stayed in high school. I expected different way before my life, but it same to before.
Now I think everything is ok, my new home similar my old home, so I adapt so fast. I really donít know what I will do in the future. Maybe I will be a soldier.
