Wilma Briggs was a young girl during WWII. During the war she did as other young girls did such as growing victory gardens and buying some war bonds to contribute to the war effort. She lived on a big farm and loved baseball. When she grew up a young woman professional league started because they thought most of the men would get drafted. She was able to get in this league and started traveling city-to-city across the country playing in this game. When the war was drawing to a conclusion, the league was finished and left everyone that played in it with some amount of money. After she left she used her money and went to collage after the war.
