My Grandma, Yaya is 70 years old and lives in New York City.
She came to United States in 1960 because she wanted to study. My grandma Elizabeth is from France.
And go to her father in Washington DC and made her journey by boat and came into the United States through Manhattan Island. It was very exiting and fun!!
After arriving, life in the United States was very cold in the United States. It was around March 15.Her father came to pick her up. She went with her dad to learn English. ”I was only 19 years old when I arrived in New York. I was very impressed of course by the sky scrappers. But the thing that really impressed me was the statue of Liberty, a gift from France!!!!

Other questions I still have are…
Q, what do you do every day
Q, what did your dad look like?
