My baby-sitter came to America to be a blood tester in the United States. She came on a plane in 1993. Her name is Marie.

She was amazed by the big buildings and the stores. Her brother came before her because he was captain of a ship. And her dad came too because he was a captain of a ship too.

She came from Costa Rica. She settled in Queens with her grandma. She brought a picture of her daughter. She had to sign papers to come to America.

She was 27 years old when she came to the United States. She got a job in the United States. That was the best thing for Marie.
