Hi my name is Ethan Lo and this the story of my mom coming to America.When my mom was about 9 years old the world war 2 had begun.we packed up all our valuable items and tied bamboo into triangles.The boats only fit 2 people each mom and grandma fit in one and uncle and grandpa fit in one.We then fled Laos and went to did not take long for the Vietnamese
to catch up.But instead of taking bamboo the Thai people gave us boats and than we sailed across the Mekong river and came to America. on our way there we were checked out to see if we had any sicknesses on the boat and then we finally got to America. there we got better lives and better homes and there we learned English
