New York

By Briana L.
Grade 5, New York
Country of Origin: Russia

Harry L. came to America for a better life and to get away from the oppression in Russia and from the place he was living. Life was better for him in America. There were more opportunities. He was able to go to school and to start a family. He was not the first in his family to come over to America. His father came over first and then when his father sent over money the rest of the family came over. Harry's mother and sister came over with him.

Harry was a college graduate. He worked with his father in his father's store. But for the most part he went through a public school education and graduated in New York University with a B.S. You can take Harry L. out of Russia but you can't take the Russia out of him.
