Claire Cynthia is the newest player on my dadís tennis team. She is a student that goes to UTC. However she was born in Indonesia. All of her friends call her CC. I got a chance to ask her some questions about her experience as an American immigrant.

PETER: WHY DID YOU COME HERE?

CC: I CAME BECAUSE PEOPLE SAY THAT AMERICA HAS BETTER EDUCATION THAN WHERE IíM FROM. ALSO I WANTED TO PLAY TENNIS.

PETER: WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?

CC: I CAME FROM INDONESIA.

PETER: WAS IT HARD LEAVING INDONESIA?

CC: NO, I WAS SORT OF EXCITED TO COME TO THE U.S.

PETER: WAS IT SCARY LEAVING?

CC: NO, NOT REALLY.

PETER: DID YOU LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND?

CC: YES, MY HOUSE, MY FRIENDS, AND MY FAMILY.

PETER: WHEN DID YOU COME TO AMERICA?

CC: I CAME TO AMERICA ON DECEMBER 30, 2012.

PETER: WAS IT HARD LEARNING A NEW LANGUAGE?

CC: YES, ENGLISH WAS SORT OF HARD TO LEARN.

PETER: WHAT DO YOU MISS?

CC: I MISS THE FOOD, AND MY FAMILY.

PETER: WAS IT HARD FINDING A NEW SCHOOL?

CC: NO, NOT AT ALL.

PETER: IS THE FOOD DIFFERENT HERE?

CC: YES, WE DO NOT HAVE FAST FOOD IN INDONESIA.
