I chose to research the volcano Mount Acatenango it is located in Guatemala. I chose this volcano because the name was in Spanish. I used to research my volcano.

Mount Acatenango is a stratovolcano a strato volcano is a large steep volcano built up of alterning layers of lava and ashes and cinders .its stands 13,044 feet tall. There is 100,000 people living in the area the nearest major airport is lanuroro in Guatemala city. Most of the information about Acatenangos past behavior and his twin Fuegos past behavior comes from studies of deposits produced by prehistoric events .The best months for climbing are January, February, October, November, and December.

The first well documented eruptions of Acatenango took place between 1924 and 1927 although earlier historical eruptions may have occurred. There have been few historical eruptions at Acatenango especially during the rainy season could trigger landslides and debris flow on the steep slopes of the volcano during quiet periods.

I had a lot of fun researching mount Acatenango as a research project. I hope I can visit mount Acatenango. I will never forget the fact that says that mount Acatenango tandsto13,044et tall. When I saw the pictures it was exciting to see the pictures of it erupting
