n the winter of 1941, Grandpa was shocked to find out Pearl Harbor was attacked. When he found out he was sitting in his motherĘs store. He was upset, so went to go sign up. When he got his physical done they had found he had a perforated eardrum. He was upset that he couldnĘt fight for his country. He was like this because both of his brothers and almost all his friends went off. Instead of going to war, he grew victory gardens, bought victory bonds, got a war job, and was an air raid warden. When V-J Day rolled around he was happy, for he knew his friends and family were coming home!
