Mr. Frank A. was seven years old when WW2 started and eleven years old when the war ended. His two brothers, Paul ad Anthony, served in the war as well as close friends. Frank was still in school during the war, but still remembers following the war in newspapers and at the movies. He also remembers helping the war effort by reusing tin foil, saving scrap, and he had grown a victory garden. Frank said that when his shoes were worn out and he couldnĘt get new ones they would put cardboard on the bottoms. He said it seemed like shoes were rationed, but not as bad as gas, bread, sugar, milk, and rubber. Spam, he said was the worst thing he had tasted. But since that was one of the only things he could eat, he ate it.
