This story is about Marjorie P. and how she helped out with the war. Marjorie was six years old when the war started. During school she would have civil defense drills, air raid drills and fire drills. Even though her education was not affected by this, her life was. Marjorie was one of those girls upset because she could only get two pairs of shoes a year. It was also hard for her and her parents to get items that were rationed like sugar, shoes, rubber, coffee, books and gas. There was two things she liked, was helping her father in the victory garden, and going with her mother to buy victory stamps. Even though Marjorie was not really affected by the war much it was still the most vivid memory in her mind ..Up to now.
