I interviewed my grandfather and grandmother over Thanksgiving break about what life was like during WWII. I learned things about life in that time that I never knew before.

My grandfather enlisted in the Navy when he was nineteen years old. He was on a ship that sailed between Norfolk, VA and Portsmouth, CT. He helped assemble and test navy mines. My grandmother on the other hand, she drove an ambulance in England and worked in a parachute factory. On V.J day in Washington D.C., she said that everybody dropped what they were doing to celebrate.

Life during WWII must have been very scary, exciting, and interesting for my grandparents. This interview gave me a really good idea of what life was like during WWII.
