When I interviewed my grandfather he had great stories about the war. He was only 18 years old when he got into the war. One question I asked him was if you could tell us one thing about the war what would it be? He said the concentration camps. He saw how the Germans treated the Jews. I also asked him if you knew now what would happen would you still serve the country. He said yes because now the people are free and donĘt live under a dictator. Gas, sugar and butter were the things he said were rationed. He said silk stockings were rationed because they needed to make parachutes out of them.
