My grandmother had many vivid memories of blackouts. In the process of blackouts my grandmother would get very frightened and try to fall asleep. Her mother observed as she was scared throughout blackout nights and got her a blackout kit. This is how the blackout kit worked. You would get a black piece of paper and make designs with a special pen. Then you would let it sit in the sun all day. During blackouts this black paper would shine like a dim light. This kit helped my grandmother recover from the blackouts.
