My grandfather Phil was twelve when the war began and his brother was off at war. He followed the war in the papers because it was very important, and he remembers all the war posters hanging around, especially the Uncle Sam one. He was very brave and not scared of the war and his education was not affected. PhilĘs family had to cut down on food and gas because all of the stuff was expensive. My grandfather thought Hitler was a mad man. Phil did not expect anyone to be a spy, and his live was not affected by the war. But it did separate his family, and finally when his brother finally came back he had been in college at the Naval Academy
