This oral history is about my life. First IĂm going to give my background information. Then IĂll talk about how I came to the U.S. Finally IĂm going to write about how I live in the U.S. IĂm from Michoacan, Mex. I was born on November 1987, my native language is Spanish.I like to draw some landscapes. Finally there are seven members on my family. When I came to the U.S.I came with my parents on July 14th, 2002. We came by bus. The trip was two and a half days. I felt nervous and surprised. I donĂt know how I felt. I came directly from Moroleon, Gto. Mex, to Chicago. During the trip we didnĂt eat a lot. Only two times we ate little hamburgers. At the border we crossed easily. We had and experience there, because one police of immigration put a boy on my family. My father said ˘he isnĂt my boy÷ and the police was tried to find his family, and they were on the back of the bus. Now IĂm living with my parents and one of my sisters. I have lived here one and a half years. I donĂt like the school, but my friends are there. I donĂt like the language or the U.S. The language I donĂt like it because it is difficult to learn, and the U.S., because I canĂt wear clothes like I want. Also I canĂt eat the same food thatĂs in Mexico. My dreams for the future are that I want to be architect, doctor or engineer.
