When I interviewed Fred M., my next door neighbor, he told me that he had many memories during the war. One was when Fred was at his GrandparentsĂ farm, and his only uncle that wasnĂt in the service came in and said that America dropped an atomic bomb. Of course, Fred had no idea what an atomic bomb was. His uncle said that all he knew was that is was really powerful and could end the war. Fred will also remember where he was when he heard about Pearl Harbor. ˘It was December 7, 1941, and I was playing ball in the back of the ally along the side of my house.÷ Those are two of the many memories Fred will remember about the war.
