My Grandma Ellen was 9.5 years old when the war started. None of her immediate family went to the war, but some of her cousins did. She faced many hardships during the war, including having to eat maple syrup every day. Plus the hardest thing she went thruogh is having her Grandmother die withn hours of President Roosevelt.
