In the winter of 1944, an eleven-year-old named Robert Wolterman came home from school, and turned the radio on. He was doing his homework when he heard that a Submarine was going through Breda, Iowa Robert's home town.

At 5:30 pm, Robert heard shouting, the subwas here! He ran out side and saaw two happy solders driving the the truck that was towing the sub to North Carolina.
Everybody in Robert's family was talking about how their Uncle James could have bombed that ship.
