Growing Up
As a child in Brooklyn, New York, Avi loved to read and took weekly trips to the library. But while his twin sister and older brother were considered the brains of the family, everyone thought Avi a was a poor student! After failing out of the science high school he attended, he went to a small private school where his English teacher finally helped him with his writing. It was then he discovered that he would like to be a writer. Now he has written more than 50 books! Learn more about the author in Avi’s biography.
