Enter Frida's World
A Conversation with the Illustrator

Ana Juan
The life of Frida Kahlo was marked by suffering. She used her art as a way to deal with the hurt, so her paintings are full of pain, tears, and drama. For this reason, I created a still Frida, calm as she concentrates on her painting and on her world, as shown by the Mexican folk art characters (little devil, sweet jaguar, funny skeleton, etc.) crying behind her. Frida accepted a life with pain, but the world cried for her.
