Here is a painting of Frida Kahlo with her husband, Diego Rivera. If you look in Diego's right hand you will notice paintbrushes and a palette. Diego was also a Mexican artist — he was a muralist, meaning he painted large paintings on walls of buildings. Their marriage in 1929 was called a "union between an elephant and a dove." Can you guess why? Who do you think was the elephant? The dove? Hint: Diego was very large and she was tiny. Frida created this painting in 1931.
