For the Generation

''Fighting for generations not yet born.'' I think these words were too heavy for Melba. She was only 16 years old then. She was the same age as I am now. But she fought. She fought for African-Americans. If I were in her situation, I couldn't stand the fears. If I stepped outside my house, all the people were my enemy. I could killed by someone at anytime. My family would be in danger because of being black. They always had guns in their hands. I couldn't imagine a life like that now, but I can understand how scarey it was, and how hard it was to live in those days. Even for me. Melba didn't give up, that is because she had a family who loved her so much, and she had friends who loved her. That's what I think because I can work out something hard like Melba experienced, if I had friends or family besides me. I respect Melba.
