I believe that Dizzy should be in the Trailblazers Honor Roll because of three reasons. First of all, Dizzy was one of the first African-Americans in an all-white band. Back then, it was very hard for a black man to be in an all-white band, even if they were really good; Dizzy had to fight to get into his first band, The Teddy Hill Band. Second, Dizzy was a really great jazz trumpet player, known to some as the best of all time. He started playing the trumpet at a very, very young age and was taught by his father, who was a local bandleader. Lastly, Dizzy was a really nice guy with a lot of heart. He was always sharing and being kind. Dizzy had a lot of friends thoughout his life and a lot of people looked up to him.
