I think George Washington Carver is a major trailblazer. George Washington Carver played a major role in Southern agriculture. George discovered many ways of using peanuts, soybeans, and sweet potatoes. That might sound boring, but it really isn't. Because of Carver's work he demolished the dependence on cotton, which probably helped the slaves on the plantations or even gave them a break from slaving on a cotton field. Also George brought his discoveries down from just plain peanuts up to a 2 million dollar industry. George Washington Carver paved the way for blacks by showing if you worked hard and you stick with it anything can happen. Look what happened to him he became a rich man.
