Winners will be notified by May 22, 2009. (IF STUDENT’S SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER BY MAY 22, 2009, STUDENT MUST PROVIDE A HOME ADDRESS ON ENTRY.) All entries, including rights therein of winning entries, become the property of Scholastic and will not be returned. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, damaged, mutilated, postage due, incomplete, or illegible entries or mail.
Contest is open to all legal residents of the U.S. currently enrolled in grades 4 and up. Employees, and members of their families living in the same household, of Sponsor, its parent, brokers, distributors, dealers, retailers, affiliates, and its advertising, promotion, and production agencies, are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
One entry per person. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and grant to Sponsor the right to edit, publish, promote, and otherwise use their entries without further notice or compensation. Sponsor’s decisions concerning all matters relating to this contest shall be final and binding.
Three (3) Winners will be chosen to receive a signed “Burning Up” CD. (Estimated retail value: $20.00.)
All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to release Sponsor, its affiliates, distributors, and agencies from any and all liability for injuries or damages of any kind sustained through participation in this contest or use of a prize once accepted.
No cash substitutions, transfers, or assignments of prizes allowed, except by Sponsor in case of unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.
By accepting the prize, each winner grants to Scholastic the right to use his or her name, likeness, hometown, biographical information, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law. Winner may also be required to attend and participate in media and/or public relations events (the “Media Events”) designated by Scholastic and/or requested by various media outlets. Upon Scholastic’s request, and subject to winner’s availability, winner agrees to participate in such Media Events without any further compensation. Scholastic shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to choose the winners it wishes to participate in such Media Events. By accepting the prize, the winner, whether or not chosen to participate in such Media Events, agrees to release Scholastic Inc., and its affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors and agencies, and hold each of them harmless, from any claims relating to their selection, non-selection, participation or non-participation in any Media Events. Taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prizewinners and their families.
