This is Milton P. reporting from Rogers Field in 1920, a dirt airstrip in LA, Amelia takes off in an airplane for the first time. Since arriving in California, she has attended several air meets put on by local pilots to promote advances in aviation. With the support of her family, Amelia decides that she, too, wants to fly. She and her father paid for the flight. It was $10 for 10 minutes. WOOSH! As she took off with the plane, getting smaller and smaller. She was flying 1,000 feet above LA.
