Amelia Earhart: 1928

The year is 1928. Within a year of owning her first airplane, Amelia Earhart, age 26, sets her first flying record. She is flying her plane, the Kinner Airster, 14,000 feet above the ground. Her 2 years of flying lessons are going to pay off. For her successes, Amelia will be in newspapers and heard about on the radio.
Amelia has set many achievements. She was the first female pilot, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, she set a speed record at 181.18 mph, and she was the first person to fly from Hawaii to California. She has also earned the respect of male and female pilots.
