Amelia Earhart was not in a rush to wed. But after George Putnam proposed six times she accepted. On the day of the day of their wedding Amelia wrote george a letter saying that when they were married she would not be held captive but would be free to do what she wanted. Also that if they were not happy in one year they would seperate.
