By: Meilyn C.

6/1/1937

After 2 months that the Electra crashed when taking off of Hawaii, Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan, her navigator, decided to get up off there feet and finish what they started. They took off on June 1, to go around the world from the equator.A month later, Fred and Amelia arrived in Papua New Guinea to find themselves about 7000 miles away from their goal.On July 2, Fred and Amelia took off to Howland Island. Close to Howland Island was a ship that was supposed to lead Amelia and Fred to their final destination. The plane must have gotten lost because no one, not even the ship's crew ever saw Amelia or Fred Noonan again.
