Amelia Earhart Disappears
By: Faith H.
Ohio, Age 8

Amelia Earhart, the famous female pilot who flew over the Atlantic, left with her navigator, Fred Noonan, on June 1, 1937. They boarded the Lockheed Electra at 5am planning on going around the world. No word has been heard since 8:45am July 2. Last radio contact sounded anxious and breathless, making people think Amelia was scared and in trouble.

For hours radio contact was still being tried, but it is believed that Amelia and Fred are lost somewhere in the South Pacific. Questions are everywhere. Where is Amelia Earhart? Did she Crash? Did she fall into the hands of the Japanese? The fear is that at this time of war she may have become a prisoner. Some believe the Japanese will see her as a spy.

No one has the answers to these questions. It is if Amelia and her plane vanished with out a trace. No one has seen or heard from Amelia and they havenít found any part of her plane anywhere. The world is saddened by this event.
