Amelia Earhart was last seen flying over the South Pacific Islands with her navigator Fred Noonan. Some believe the Japanese took Amelia and Fred hostage because at that time in World War 2 the Japanese controlled many of the islands in the South Pacific, but the Japanese deny this theory. They say they had nothing to do with the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, many people disagree. The odd thing about Amelia running out fuel in the middle of the South Pacific and crashing is that her plane nor body was ever found. There’s still a possibility that she could’ve crashed but no one knows why her plane, Elactra 10E, was never found near where the plane supposedly crashed. On the day of July 5th1937 ships near the South Pacific picked up Amelia’s voice over the radio, but the crew never arrived. This was only 24 hours into the flight; Amelia’s destination was Howland Island after she departed from Papa New Guinea. President Roosevelt ordered nine naval ships and 66 planes to help search for Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan. 4,000 men searched the South Pacific, but had no luck with finding Amelia Earhart or Fred Noonan. All we can say about the disappearance of Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan is that they just ran out of fuel in the middle of the ocean, even though we can’t be 100% sure that this is what happened, it’s probably what did happen because her plane could’ve floated away from the point where she crashed or sea creatures could’ve moved the ship somewhere else.
