Today Amelia Earhart was lost at sea. Her plane disappeared as it was going over Howland Island. As a child Amelia was not interested in airplanes. To her they were ''things of rust wire and wood, and not at all interesting.'' In 1917 Amelia was invited to visit a local airfield of the Canadian Air Force. ''As soon as we left the ground, I knew I myself had to fly.'' We will always remember Amelia Earhart.
