Amelia is Lost and Never Found
By: Nikolai M.
Russia, Age 9

9/8/1937

Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan started around the world. They took off in California on June 1, 1937. Then they flew to Miami. Next they flew to Brazil and they crossed the Atlantic Ocean and landed in Africa. There they refueled and flew to India. From there they flew to Papau New Guinea. There was a ship that was named Itasca. It had a very strong radio that could send messages very far away. They were still too far to listen to Amelia. Then they heard her. She said that she was about 100 miles from Howland Island. Then Amelia was heard again. She said that they were running north and south. Those were the last words. Then Amelia was lost.
